Loki 2021

Disney+ has announced that Loki will be coming to the streaming service on June 9. And unlike previous original series, the episodes will debut every Wednesday. Until all six episodes are out.

For previous series like The Mandalorian, WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, they all debuted new episodes on Fridays. But this move makes sense for Disney+. As the world is starting to open back up – including theaters – there’s going to be a lot of people heading to the theater to watch big blockbusters this summer like F9, Peter Rabbit 2, Black Widow and more. So instead of having Loki compete with those, releasing on Wednesday makes it a bit easier.

Though, Loki isn’t really competing with those names, since it is available on Disney+ and can be watched at any time.

What is Loki about?

The series about Loki follows the events of Avengers: Endgame, which released in 2019.

Loki follows Thor’s unruly brother as he “pops up throughout human history as an unlikely influencer on historical events.” This is because it stars the version of Loki from Endgame where he escaped custody with the Tesseract, which enabled him to interfere with human history via his own means of time travel.

Of course, Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki, and will be the series’ lead. Which makes sense, seeing as the show is named after him. Chris Hemsworth will also make at least a cameo in the series as Thor. Owen Wilson will be part of the cast, and he’ll play Mobius M. Mobius.

Reports have also suggested that Loki connects to Thor 4 and Doctor Strange 2, both of which are set to come out as part of the MCU Phase 4. So it’s an important part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

You’ll only be able to watch Loki on Disney+, so if you’re not already a subscriber, now is the time to sign up.
