The ASUS ZenFone 8 series will feature a headphone jack, the company confirmed. ASUS confirmed the information via its social media channels, surprising quite a few people.
As most of you know, the vast majority of smartphones from well-known companies do not feature a headphone jack any longer. That especially goes for high-end smartphones.
Well, ASUS is looking to change that with its upcoming ZenFone 8 devices. The company is tipped to release three ZenFone 8 phones, and it seems like all of them will feature a headphone jack.
The company’s ZenFone 7 series, which arrived last year, did not include an audio jack. What it did include is a flip camera. Well, that flip camera won’t be a part of the ZenFone 8 series.
ASUS is expected to announce three phones as part of the ZenFone 8 series. Those devices will be the ZenFone 8, 8 Pro, and 8 Mini. All of them are tipped to ship with the Snapdragon 888 SoC. All of them will be flagship-grade phones.
The devices will become official on May 12, the company has confirmed. The launch will kick off at 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST / 7 PM CET, in case you were wondering.
It seems like ASUS will opt for a display camera hole on its phones, to replace the flip camera setup from the ZenFone 7 series. That automatically means that the ZenFone 8 will look a bit more conventional.
Not much information surfaced about the ZenFone 8 series, but the ZenFone 8 Mini does seem to provoke the most interest in consumers. That phone will, allegedly, feature a 5.9-inch display, with a 120Hz refresh rate.
It will have plenty of RAM, and storage, while its display will be flat. Its bezels will be quite thin, so its footprint should be really small. Not everyone wants a huge smartphone, and it’s nice for companies to acknowledge that.
