According to some new information from XDA Developer Freak07, ASUS is planning for several new ZenFone 8 devices. One of them will be the ASUS ZenFone 8 “Mini”, and that handset will be a flagship-grade smartphone.

To be clear, three devices got detailed by the source, the ASUS “SAKE”, “PICASSO”, and “VODKA”. The ASUS “SAKE” is allegedly the ZenFone 8 Mini model, and the source did share some information about the phone.

The upcoming “Mini” flagship from ASUS is expected to utilize a 120Hz display & SD888 SoC

The device will feature a 5.92-inch fullHD+ display from Samsung. That display will offer a 120Hz refresh rate. Considering the size of this display, not many people would consider this to be a “Mini” device, but there you go.

That smartphone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Sony’s IMX686 64-megapixel camera sensor is mentioned, and the same goes for the Sony IMX663. That is a new sensor that we don’t know anything about just yet.

The ASUS “PICASSO” is expected to feature a 6.6-inch fullHD+ OLED display from Samsung. Its refresh rate is unknown at the moment. That device will also be fueled by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, by the way.

Four cameras are mentioned for this phone. A 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 camera, the same mentioned earlier. The Sony IMX363 12.2-megapixel camera is also mentioned, along with two OmniVision sensors.

One of those two is a 24-megapixel OV24B1Q sensor, while the other is an 8-megapixel OV08A telephoto sensor. The Pixelworks i6 visual processor is also mentioned here.

The ASUS “VODKA” will probably be the most expensive handset in the series

In regards to the ASUS “VODKA”, well, not much info got shared, aside from the Snapdragon 888 SoC. We’re presuming that this will be the largest, and most expensive smartphone in the series, though.

It is not clear when will these phones arrive, but if ASUS plans to keep to its release cycle, don’t expect them before H2 this year. The ASUS ZenFone 7 series arrived back in August last year.
