The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is now getting an Android 11 update with One UI 3.1. Do note that the update is not rolling out everywhere, though. It is currently coming to the LTE model in Germany.

This is just the start, though, more markets and variants will start getting it soon. The Galaxy Tab S6 is joining a rather long list of Samsung phones that already got Android 11 with One UI 3.1.

The Galaxy Tab S6 is now receiving Android 11, the rollout starts in Germany

The build for this update is “T865XXU4CUB7”, and the update weighs 2.2 GB. This update will also bring the latest Android security patch your way, the security patch for March 2021. So it’s the most current software you can get.

That being said, the Galaxy Tab S6 was expected to receive Android 11 in May. Samsung jumped the gun, and is now offering it two months earlier than expected. That’s a welcomed change, that’s for sure.

Speaking of which, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite was also expected to get the update in May. Does that mean the ‘Lite’ model may start getting it in March as well? We’ll find out soon enough.

In terms of changes, there are a lot of them. You can check them out by going here, but do note the changelog is in German, and it’s listed in a couple of screenshots.

If you’ve used this update on a phone, you pretty much know what to expect

If you’ve already used Android 11 with One UI 3.1 on a Samsung smartphone, you know exactly what to expect. The update for tablets is a bit different, but most of the main features are the same.

You’ll get some Android 11 changes that Google brought with the update itself, while others are provided by Samsung. Some slight UI differences will be visible, along with some functionality changes.

For example, there’s an obvious change in the notification shade. Your messaging apps will not have a separate category when you receive a notification, which is a welcomed change, and a long-awaited one. You can, of course, decide which apps will belong there.

We’re not sure if the Google Discover feed will be available, but it should. Google Duo integration should also become a thing, while the Eye Comfort Shield feature should also become available with this update. These are only some changes that are expected.
