In a recent development, Samsung is pushing the Android 11 update for the Galaxy A12 smartphone. Notably, the device came with Android 10 out of the box and was launched back earlier this year.
Well, fans did not appreciate Samsung for bundling a 2021 device with a year-old Android operating system. Thankfully, Samsung is now rectifying its mistake and pushing the stable Android 11 update for the Galaxy A12.
Apart from all the goodies of Android 11 and One UI 3.1, the update also bumps the security patch level to the latest, i.e. May 2021. Interestingly, Samsung has not packed this update with One UI 3.0, and instead, it is coming with One UI 3.1.
So, that’s something nice for the Galaxy A12 owners. Samsung is a champ when it comes to updating its phones with the latest updates.
Despite managing a large portfolio of devices, Samsung is doing an incredible job at updating its phones with the latest firmware as well as security updates.
Talking about the Android 11 features the Galaxy A12 is getting, it includes chat bubbles, a conversation section in the notifications area, a one-time permissions option, dedicated media playback widget, and more.
Whereas as a part of One UI 3.1 goodies, the Galaxy A12 Android 11 update brings AOD, lock screen tweaks, redesigned volume controls, Samsung Free, more Dynamic Lockscreen options, improved device care section, etc.
As per Sammobile, the Galaxy A12 Android 11 update is now arriving with firmware version A125FXXU1BUE3. It is currently live for Galaxy A12 owners in Russia.
However, we expect Samsung to expand the Android 11 rollout to more regions in the coming days. As already mentioned, the update also brings the May 2021 security patch, which brings fixes for three critical and 23 vulnerabilities in Samsung One UI.
The size of the update is not known. But considering everything that this update packs, we would recommend the Galaxy A12 owners download this update on a stable Wi-Fi internet connection to avoid any downloading issues.
As usual, if you own a Galaxy A12 in Russia, then this update should have reached your device. Do note that since the update is rolling out via OTA, it will take some time before hitting all the units.
Luckily, you can also check for the update, manually. In order to do this, you need to head over to the “Settings” menu, then navigate to “System updates.” From there, tap the “Download and install” option.
You can proceed with downloading and installation of the update if your device detects a new update.
