The latest smartphone from Samsung to join the list of devices that are receiving the April 2021 security update is the entire Galaxy S20 series.
The Galaxy S20 series includes the Galaxy S20, S20+, and the S20 Ultra. This is quick from Samsung since it recently started pushing the latest security patches across its portfolio.
According to Sammobile, this new April 2021 security update for the Galaxy S20 series is live for users in Germany. Moreover, it was spotted first on Tuesday.
There is no information if the update has reached more countries or not. However, we expect in the coming days, the update will make its way to more regions.
Being an incremental security patch, it simply bumps the security patch level to April 1, 2021, and does not bring any new features or improvements for the phone.
Well, it does bring a bunch of fixes for severe vulnerabilities. For more information on that, you can head over to the official Samsung Security Bulletin for the month of April.
It is not clear if the Galaxy S20 FE units are also picking up the update. So, feel free to let us know in the comments below if your S20 FE has also bagged the update.
Talking about the update, it arrives with build version G98xxXXS7DUC9. The size of the update is not known yet, nor we have an official changelog of the same.
Similar to previous updates, Samsung is pushing this new Galaxy S20 series April security update via OTA in batches. If you are lucky and own any of the Galaxy S20 series phones, i.e. Galaxy S20, S20+, or the Galaxy S20 Ultra, and reside in Germany, then you should have received an update notification on your phone.
Note that the update will be hitting the devices gradually. So, not everyone will receive the update at the same time. The positive thing is you can also manually check for the update on your Galaxy S20 series units.
To manually trigger the update, you need to go to Settings. Then tap on System updates. As the last step, you need to tap the Download and install option.
If a new update is available for your Galaxy S20 series device, then the updater will detect the update and notify you. Simply, you can tap on the update notification to download the update.
