Cyberpunk 2077 Everything You Need To Know

Wake the fuck up samurai, you have an update to install, because Cyberpunk 2077 just got a new update today moving it up to version 1.2.

What does this update include? A few things, to be sure, but it mostly revolves around improving the driving experience and the encounters with the Night City Police Department.

The 1.2 update should be live on all platforms where Cyberpunk 2077 is available. Including on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as long as you have the disc version of the game. You know, because Sony pulled the digital copy from PSN and it's still hasn't been brought back. (What's up with that, Sony?) All that aside, if you still own a copy of the game, make sure to install the update as it should improve your overall experience. Even though it doesn't add any new content.

If you're on Stadia, simply boot up the game and the update should just be there since there are no installs to deal with.

Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.2 fixes NCPD appearing out of thin air

You ever accidentally shoot a pedestrian in Night City, only to have the NCPD randomly appear behind you? Leading to your imminent death?

Well you're not the only one. This was a weird bug that a lot of players were experiencing since launch. Where NCPD officers were showing up in large amounts behind you. And today's update fixes that issue. Now to be clear, this isn't likely to get rid of all cops appearing behind you. But it should thin out their ranks a little bit so it's not happening so often.

As an up and coming Night City degenerate, this is good news for you. That is unless you revel in all out wars with the NCPD any chance you get.

Cruise around Night City with more control

The other big fix with this update is the improvements made to driving around the city. Among other things, there's now a sensitivity slider to help you find the right amount of control while you drive.

In general though, driving around is also just going to be easier. As CD Projekt Red adjust the steering and the speed of vehicles within the game. As part of that, CDPR also adjusted how the car handles when you see dips in the frame rate. Resulting in car control being easier even with the decrease in frames per second.

There are a few other minor improvements to look out for

While the things above are to be the most noticeable improvements, there are a few more things to look out for.

For instance, you can now disable the double-tap to dodge function. There's also a few more key bindings for the WASD keys, and there's a new feature to help you get unstuck in situations where you ended up stuck when trying to accelerate.

That's about it for the improvements. While this isn't the PS5 update that some of us are hoping for, it still addresses some pain points of the game to help smooth things out.
