Samsung Mobile chief, Koh Dong-jin, has talked to Bloomberg to confirm that the Galaxy Note 21 is not coming this year. He did, however, say that a “Note” device will probably launch next year.

The Galaxy Note 21 series not coming in 2021, but the story may continue in 2022

Based on his words, Samsung did not abandon the Galaxy Note series entirely. He kind of suggested that the Galaxy Note 21 is not coming due to ship shortages, though that may not be the only reason.

Samsung has been rumored to skip the Galaxy Note 21 launch in 2021 for a while now. Those rumors suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold series will replace the Galaxy Note series entirely, though. Well, that may no happen, as the Galaxy Note series devices are said to arrive in 2022.

Koh Dong-jin said: “It could be a burden to unveil two flagship models in a year so it might be difficult to release Note model in 2H.”, while adding the following: “The timing of Note model launch can be changed but we seek to release a Note model next year”.

So, these are good news for Galaxy Note series consumers. Why? Well, the Galaxy Note series is not going away entirely, Samsung is only skipping a year. All you have to do is stick to your Galaxy Note 20 series handset a bit longer, or get the Galaxy S21 Ultra, though you’ll need to get the S Pen separately.

Nothing is set in stone at this point

Do note that Koh Dong-jin did say that things may change, though. So, nothing is set in stone at this point, but he did reveal some of the company’s plans regarding the Galaxy Note series.

It is worth noting that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to ship with an S Pen stylus, though. So, if you want to get a smartphone with an included S Pen, from the current-gen, that’s the phone you could go with.

The thing is, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be an entirely different form factor compared to the Galaxy Note series. On top of that, it will be a lot more expensive. It’s completely understandable if the same users don’t end up being interested because of those two reasons.
