The Samsung Galaxy S21 series has started getting a May 2021 security update. As part of that update, the company is not only boosting the security on its flagship smartphones, but also improving the camera experience.

We’re still in April, and the Galaxy S21 trio is already getting the May 2021 update. Do note that the update is not reaching all markets, though. It will gradually move to other markets, but at the moment, it’s available only in Europe, with a firmware version “G99xBXXU3AUDA”.

We’re looking at a 1.2GB update here, so it’s quite hefty for a security update. We don’t know what exactly is changed in terms of security, but the general changelog has been shared.

As you can see in the image down below, this update improves camera performance. We’re not sure what exactly has been improved, but Samsung has been tweaking things, it seems.

In addition to that, the company has enhanced the Quick Share feature. File sharing between Galaxy devices has been improved in general thanks to the Quick Share boost.

Various stability improvements and bug fixes are also included

On top of all that, various stability improvements and bug fixes are included here. The performance should be even more stable now than it was previously.

Your phone will let you know when it’s time to update, but you can always check manually, if you want. All you need to do is hit the “Settings” app, and check for software updates from there. Needless to say, it may be a good idea to download the update via WiFi.

Samsung has been on point with updates this year. The company is constantly updating its smartphones with Android 11 and new security updates. It’s being really fast about it as well, and that is not limited to flagships.

Tons of Samsung’s more affordable smartphones have already received the Android 11 update, which is commendable. Samsung was really slow with rolling out updates in the past, but those times are behind the company, it seems.
