Samsung‘s upcoming affordable Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, could make its market debut soon. The device has picked up dedicated support pages on the company’s official websites in a number of European countries, suggesting an imminent launch.
Support pages for the SM-T225, aka the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, have appeared on Samsung’s official websites in Russia, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, and several other European countries (via). While the newly-published webpages don’t reveal anything about the device itself, they confirm an impending launch.
A follow-up to the Galaxy Tab A7 launched last September, the Tab A7 Lite will bolster Samsung’s portfolio of affordable tablets. The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will likely launch in the European markets first.
The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite first popped up on the rumor mill in January this year. The device appeared on benchmarking platform Geekbench with the model number SM-T225. The listing revealed a MediaTek Helio P22T octa-core chipset, 3GB RAM, and Android 11-based software.
It was followed by another leak midway through February. The leak revealed its design, screen size, and a tentative launch date of June 2021. The device then received the FCC certification in early March, giving some sort of official confirmation of its existence. Soon after that, the SM-T225, aka the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, also picked up the Bluetooth SIG certification.
A major leak towards the end of last month gave then us a much clearer look at the tablet, along with its specs. The device is said to feature an 8.4-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD resolution. Paired with the MediaTek Helio P22T octa-core processor is 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. Given the mediocre amount of built-in storage, expect the device to support a microSD card for storage expansion.
The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite also reportedly packs a 5,100mAh battery, with support for 15W fast wired through a USB Type-C port. The features Bluetooth 5.0 and will include a single camera unit both on the front and the back. The whole package is housed in a metal body.
Samsung has yet to officially confirm the existence of the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. However, given the recent developments, it should be only a matter of time now before the new tablet breaks cover. Reports are that the company will announce the device alongside the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite, which is an affordable flagship-grade tablet, over the next couple of months. We will keep you updated as and when more information emerges.
