It seems like the Google Pixel 6 may feature a camera sensor from Samsung. This information comes from code snippets shared by XDA Developers’ Editor-in-Chief, Mishaal Rahman.
Latest code changes suggest that Google Pixel 6 may utilize a camera sensor from Samsung
He says that these snippets were discovered in GCam by a modder, UltraM8. The information is based on the fact Google added GBRG bayer pattern support for the Super Res Zoom algorithm.
Just relaying an interesting finding from some GCam modders.

Seems that Google added GBRG bayer pattern support for the Super Res Zoom algo. (code-named "sabre"). Modder UltraM8 was digging into sabre libs when they found this.

What does that have to do with Samsung? Well, a lot of Samsung image sensors have this pattern. So, if we’re about to speculate, it’s quite possible that Google may use Samsung’s camera(s) moving forward.
The Google Pixel 6 is tipped to feature a new camera sensor, breaking the tradition of Pixel phones using the Sony IMX363 sensor. Google has been using this camera sensor since the Pixel 2, as the main camera sensor for its devices.
It is also worth noting that the Super Res Zoom in GCam 8.2 now works on Samsung image sensors without root. Do note that this does not confirm anything at all, but it does open up doors for Google using a Samsung camera sensor on the Pixel 6.
The 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN2 camera sensor could be a candidate
What sensor may Google use? Well, there are a lot of options, but the 50MP ISOCELL GN2 could be the main candidate. Why? Well, it’s quite a large camera sensor that gives Google a lot to work with.
It is a 1/1.12-inch sensor, and has a 1.4um pixel size. This sensor, with the right software, is capable of capturing great images in low light, and also offer great dynamic range. As most of you know, Google is all about that.
On the flip side, Sony is rumored to release a one-inch 50-megapixel Sony IMX800 sensor, so that could be an option as well. Some rumors did say that a one-inch sensor won’t arrive this year for smartphones, though, so it remains to be seen what will happen.
You have probably also heard that Google plans to use its in-house chip in the Pixel 6, the ‘Whitechapel’. That is, at least, its codename. All in all, we’re looking at some changes with the Pixel 6 series, and it will be interesting to see what will it offer.
