Google Play Stores has a ton of games catering to every genre. Usually, it becomes difficult to find games when you have installed a bunch of them on your phone. Well, Google Play Games is now rolling out a dedicated “Games” folder for some users.
This Google Play Games “Games” folder is meant for those users who love to play games. Here, the user will find all the games installed on his/her phone, all in one place.
Notably, the Games folder organizes all the installed games, arranges their names, and provides an easy access location to them. The Games folder can be placed on the homescreen, allowing you easier access to your favorite games.
As per XDA, Google Play Games is pushing this dedicated “Games” folder for some users at the moment. It was first spotted by XDA in an APK teardown post, with screenshots of this feature following soon after.
Now, users are reporting the rolling out of this feature to them. After you allow Google Play to organize your games, it will add a new Games folder on your homescreen.
This newly added Games folder will be automatically populated with all the games on your smartphone. It will show off the game icon, game’s name, publisher information, and last played status.
Moreover, this folder is a bit different from the usual folder that you would create on your homescreen to organize apps. It basically launches an activity directly in the Google Play Games app.
However, the activity is not in fullscreen so, you need not leave your homescreen when you open this Games folder. Do note that tapping the forward arrow icon on the side of the folder name, will redirect you to Play Games app.
The feature is currently rolling out to a limited set of users and is expected to be available for everyone in the coming days. If you don’t have games installed on your smartphone, then this folder will show the in-built games within Google Play Games.
This Play Games feature wouldn’t make much of a difference for many users, including me, who use their phones strictly for work.
But it is good for those who have a knack for trying new games. They will be able to find all the installed games in one folder and can choose to play or uninstall them, right from one place.
