Sony PS5 Review 2

Sony has officially announced the PlayStation Plus games for May of 2021, and because it’s already April 28 and it’s a Wednesday, that means this month’s new PlayStation Plus games will be ready to claim Tuesday May 4. That does mean you still have around a week to wait. But the wait isn’t that long so it’s not too bad. Also worth noting is that one of the games is a pretty excellent title.

If you didn’t claim the titles for April, which includes Days Gone, do so as soon as possible. Because once Tuesday, May 4 comes around, it disappears. As for May, starting on the 4th, PS5 owners will get their fourth official PS5 game for free as part of PS Plus.

PS5 games, and we mean proper PS5 games that are designed for PS5, are still in somewhat rare company. So any new PS5 titles are a welcomed addition to the PS Plus lineup.

The PlayStation Plus games lineup for May includes Battlefield V

This isn’t the first time a big AAA game has made its way into the lineup. But this is a big deal no matter how you look at it. Because one of the three games PS Plus subscribers will get this month is Battlefield V. Are you ready to go back to World War II and fight for freedom? Because that’s what this game is offering. The game features both single player story missions as well as a robust multiplayer full of different playlists ready to keep you on your toes.

In total there are three titles to claim for the month of May. Battlefield V just happens to be the major one. If you didn’t get the chance to play it when it launched, now’s your chance to experience all the chaos and action-packed gameplay of this particular vision of World War II.

Unlike last month’s Days Gone, Battlefield V isn’t part of the PlayStation Plus collection for PS5 owners. So if you do own a PS5, this is your chance to get Battlefield V for free so you may at the very least want to claim it.

Don’t miss out on the other two games

In addition to Battlefield V, there are two more games to pick up for May that you will definitely want to snag. For PS4 owners, there’s Stranded Deep. Which is an open world adventure/survival game that will test your skills and willingness to survive all on your own.

As the story goes, you’re stranded in the pacific ocean all by your lonesome following a mysterious plane crash. You’ll need to do everything you can to stay alive including fending off particularly menacing sea creatures. You will need to hunt for supplies, food, and more as you work to craft tools and other things to aid you in your survival.

You can also hunt both on land and underwater. Though you will want to be careful as you may encounter any number of dangerous entities. If you own a PS5, then in addition to the other two games you can also claim Wreckfest: Drive hard Die Last for free.

This is a racing title where you’ll battle it out on the track against your opponents. But you won’t be driving shiny new race cars. Instead you’re all outfitted with vehicles that have been banged up, mashed together with parts from other cars, and all of you are trying to wreck the other. Wreckfest features challenge modes, and multiplayer with up to 24 other players online. Which you’ll need PlayStation Plus to participate in.

This is only available for PS5 owners as this is the PS5 version of the game. But it does also have a PS4 version.

Starting from May 4, you can claim all of these titles until Monday, May 31. And for April’s free titles, you can claim Days Gone, Zombie Army 4: Dead War, and Oddworld: Soulstorm until Monday May 3. So don’t miss out on those great titles if you haven’t already picked them up.
