Over the last couple of weeks, OnePlus has been on a relentless tear as it has been revealing some of the key features coming to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. The company’s slated to hold its announcement event on Tuesday, March 23rd where the latest 2021 flagships are due to be unveiled, but that’s not all that OnePlus will be showing off.

For years, fans and OnePlus users have been wanting a OnePlus Watch, and it seems that the time is fast approaching. During the course of sharing a bunch of information regarding what the phones will be capable of, there have been some teasers in regards to a potential smartwatch release. Leaks and rumors have long-suggested that a OnePlus Watch is on the way, and now we have our first look at what this new wearable will look like.

Unbox Therapy took to Twitter to share the final render, which was then retweeted by the OnePlus Twitter account. The render shows that the OnePlus Watch will indeed sport a traditional round design, with two buttons on the right side, at the top and bottom of the frame. CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed that the Watch will not be powered by Wear OS, leaving this upcoming wearable to likely compete more with Fitbit and Amazfit, and not with TicWatch or Samsung’s Galaxy Watch line.

There’s not much else to go off of from the render, other than some activity ring-looking graphics following the edges of the display. The time and date are placed right in the middle, but this is more than likely just going to be the default watch face and we’re hoping that there will be plenty of other watch faces to choose from.

The OnePlus Watch may be the company’s first smartwatch, but it’s not the company’s first foray into wearables. The OnePlus Band was launched in India late last year, but the fitness tracker has not made its way to other markets outside of trying to import it through something like GearBest.

Leaks have suggested that the OnePlus Watch will measure in at 46mm, while featuring IP68 water and dust resistance. Battery life and charging will be interesting as well, as it’s suggested that we’ll see some type of OnePlus Warp Charge that has been fitted for a smartwatch. We could see up to one week of battery life, while going from 0-100% in just 20 minutes. It’s said that the OnePlus Watch will also feature 4GB of onboard storage, along with being able to automatically detect your workouts.

We’re just a few days away from the official unveiling, and I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t be more excited. Are you pumped to see the OnePlus Watch? Or are you disappointed that this wearable won’t feature Wear OS?
