Have you ever wondered when you should replace your Roborock robot vacuum’s filter? Technically you should replace it after 150 hours of use, but that isn’t always the best time to replace it. So we’re going to help you out with when you should replace it, today.

Make sure to wash your filter often

You can wash the filter that comes with the robot vacuum, just use some water and get all of the dirt and dust out of the filter. It’s pretty easy to do.

Then let it air dry for a few hours (or even overnight). If you put it back into the robot vacuum before it is completely dried, you can cause damage to your robot vacuum. And it will likely spit an error out at you.

The more often you wash the filter, the longer it’ll last. As it is less likely to get clogged when cleaning your home. Roborock recommends cleaning it about once every two weeks.

When to replace the filter

If you open the Roborock app, click on your robot vacuum and then the three dots in the right corner, you’ll see an option for “Maintenance”. This will tell you how long you have until you need to replace the filter.

It roughly needs to be replaced after 150 hours of use. That’s roughly 125-150 cleanings. So it’s not too often. Once it starts to get close to that 150 hours of use, it’ll let you know that you need to replace it soon.

Now you can reset this, instead of replacing the filter. Which isn’t the best idea, but it is an easy workaround. If you don’t replace it, you may not get the best cleaning experience from your Roborock robot vacuum.

The filter can last more than 150 hours, but if it looks really used, and starts to look clogged, then it’s definitely time to replace it.

Where to buy replacement filters

So where can you buy replacement filters for your Roborock robot vacuum? Amazon.

Roborock’s store on Amazon has all of the filters you’ll need for your robot vacuum. This includes mopping pads, side brushes, floating brushes and more. So you can keep your robot vacuum performing at its best.

All of Roborock’s robot vacuums use the same filter, except for the Roborock S7. That one has a redesigned filter, as it is on the top of the dustbin, instead of the backside. And that is due to the self-emptying dock that is set to come out later in 2021. That also likely means that future Roborock robot vacuums will need a different filter versus the older models.

Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, the Roborock S7 filter is not yet available to buy. That should change in the coming weeks though.
