Huawei’s newest high-end smartphone may arrive soon. New information suggests that the Huawei P50 flagships will launch in mid-April. To be more accurate, the information reveals April 17 as the possible launch date.

The Huawei P50 may launch in mid-April in three different models

This information comes from a Chinese tipster, who shared the information on Weibo, reports GizmoChina. The Huawei P50 is expected to arrive in three different models, the Huawei P50, P50 Pro, and P50 Pro+.

Two out of three phones are expected to ship with the Kirin 9000 SoC. That is the latest and greatest processor from the company, and possibly Huawei’s last flagship chip.

The Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pro+ will ship with the Kirin 9000, while the P50 variant will arrive with the Kirin 9000E SoC. That is, at least, what the rumors have been saying thus far.

The Huawei P50 is expected to feature a 6.1-inch display, while the other two models are tipped to arrive with 6.6 and 6.8-inch displays, respectively. Do note that these are all just rumors for now.

The Huawei P50 Pro actually leaked at the end of last year. That leak showed a phone with a curved display, thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole. The phone will be made out of metal and glass, most likely.

Leica lenses will be included

Leica lenses will be included in the package, while we’re still not sure what to expect out of its cameras. Some rumors suggested that Sony’s yet-unannounced IMX800 sensor may be included in at least two models, if not all three.

The Sony IMX800 will become the world’s first 1-inch mobile camera sensor, if rumors are to be believed. Sony is expected to present this camera sensor really soon, perhaps around the Huawei P50 launch event.

All three Huawei P50 smartphones will ship without Google services, unfortunately. Huawei is trying to talk to the Biden administration to revert the US ban, but nothing happened on that account, not yet.
