The upcoming Huawei P50 series is expected to debut the company’s HarmonyOS. According to a new report, the Huawei P50 series is now on the third beta build of HarmonyOS, and a stable version is expected soon.

The Huawei P50 series is expected to debut the company’s HarmonyOS

If this report ends up being true, the Huawei P50 series will be the first set of phones to ship with HarmonyOS out of the box. We’re not sure if this will apply to markets outside of China, but it probably will.

HarmonyOS is the company’s very own operating system on which Huawei completely focused after the US ban. Some reports surfaced recently claiming that HarmonyOS is Android-based after all, which was surprising.

We’ll kind of have to wait for it to come pre-installed on a device in order to know the truth, but it sure is interesting. Huawei is rumored to launch three P50 devices at the same time, the P50, P50 Pro, and P50 Pro+.

All three phones are expected to arrive in mid-April, if a recent report is to be believed. The Kirin 9000 SoC is expected to fuel the Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pro+, while the Kirin 9000E will allegedly be included inside the Huawei P50.

The Huawei P50 will be, by far, the smallest device in the series

The Huawei P50 is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch display, while the P50 Pro and P50 Pro+ models will ship with 6.6-inch and 6.8-inch panels, respectively. All three phones are expected to include a display camera hole, and really thin bezels.

Leica lenses are once again expected to be a part of the package. Some rumors are suggesting that Huawei will utilize a yet-unannounced Sony IMX800 sensor for the main camera on these three devices.

Huawei is still banned from using Google services, so Huawei’s very own HMS will ship on these devices. That was the case for quite some time when it comes to Huawei smartphones, so many of you already know what to expect.
