A new leak points to signs that Lenovo is well underway in its development on the Legion 2 Pro. The follow up to last year's Legion Pro, otherwise known as the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel in some markets.
This was Lenovo's very first gaming smartphone that boasted some pretty serious specs and features. Letting it easily compete with the other gaming phones that released in 2020. Lenovo even had some nifty innovations to put in front of the consumer.
That doesn't necessarily mean Lenovo will do the same thing again this time. And when looking at the Legion 2 Pro leak, there's nothing to suggest that Lenovo has a bunch of cool tech tricks up its sleeve to draw in more users. That's not to say that it won't. The leak just doesn't revolve around any of that kind of information.
So far there isn't a whole lot of information about the phone, but the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro, according to the leak, should support 65w fast charging.
This is based on a certification the phone has recently gone through in China, called a 3C certification. In this certification a "5G digital mobile phone" is listed as supporting up to 45w and 65w fast charging. It's also possible that the phone could charge even faster than that.
A rumor not related to the 3C certification states that the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro will could support up to 130w fast charging. Keep in mind though that all of these specs could be inaccurate as Lenovo itself has not teased or confirmed the charging speeds as of yet.
Another thing worth considering is that with the original Legion Pro, one of the features that Lenovo focused on a lot was the charging. Because the phone allows you to charge the battery through two separate ports, boosting the charge speed quite a bit.
It also teased this prior to the phone's launch. So it will likely toss out some teasers about charging with this new device at some point too. In the rumor about the fast charging there are a few other key specs detailed.
The phone could (and likely will) come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. This is what the ROG Phone 5 is using, and it's what the RedMagic 6 is using. So Lenovo would have to use it to stay on an even keel. That said, Lenovo could always surprise.
