LG Rollable smartphone patent images coincide with previously filed LG patents. The patents were filed at the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration).
LG took the wraps off its first rollable smartphone dubbed, the LG rollable in 2020. The device featured a sliding display that could expand in a bid to offer more screen estate.
The rumor mill has been churning out speculations regarding the LG Rollable smartphone's impending launch for quite some time now. While LG fans continue waiting with bated breath, the South Korean electronic company has filed a design patent for a rollable mobile phone.
The recently surfaced patent document has some images attached that look similar to the LG Rollable design. It shows a regular smartphone that can expand the display to provide more screen area. Moreover, the patent hints at a pop-up camera module when the screen expands.
The popular handset maker has filed a design patent. The patent images hint at a rollable display. You can expand it to achieve a wider screen area. This feature is similar to the LG Rollable phone.
The front portion of the patented device bears resemblance to a regular rectangular smartphone. For more screen estate, the display can be expanded from the edge. The design element is identical to the LG Rollable, which was unveiled last year.
The left side of the rear panel features a vertical bar. Aside from that, the patent images show thin edges on the screen. You can effortlessly pull it out from the left side and expand the screen area.
The display is 40 percent larger than its crammed-down design in the unfolded form. The top left corner of the vertically aligned panel houses the rear camera module, as well as an LED flash.
The patent images hint at a mammoth rectangular screen on the back panel. This screen can come in handy for capturing self-portraits and video calling.
Details about the LG Rollable smartphone's release date are still few and far between. According to a new report, LG will launch its Rollable phone after September 2021. The phone was originally slated to hit the store shelves in March this year.
Tipster tenet5 (@cozyplanes) suggested that the LG Rollable phone could set you back a whopping $2,359. In December 2020, the tipster even leaked a slew of possible specs of the upcoming smartphone.
