Microsoft today has announced the May titles that are being added to Xbox Game Pass, including Red Dead Online. The service will actually be getting a handful of new games added.
Red Dead Online, Rockstar’s online mode for Red Dead Redemption 2, has helped extend the life of the game. Similar to GTA Online as the online counterpart to GTA V. This is probably by far the biggest title land on Xbox Game Pass for the month in terms of popularity with a current player base.
Though it is by no means the only big title. And multiple large title releases this month bodes well for both Microsoft and the subscribers.
Red Dead Online is just the tip of the iceberg so to speak when it comes to game releases on Game Pass this month. Microsoft will be releasing 9 other titles in all for the service. Which includes both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster. Really this is two games, but they were bundled together as a single title when the HD Remasters were released.
In addition to two of the most beloved mainline Final Fantasy titles, Game Pass subscribers will also get access to FIFA 21, which is part of the EA Play compatibility that Game Pass acquired earlier this year.
There’s also Just Cause 4: Reloaded, Outlast 2, Dragon Quest Builders 2, Remnant From The Ashes, Psychonauts, and Steep. Worth noting is that not all of the games will be available across all access points. For instance, the Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster will only be available to play from the console or PC. But not in the cloud.
In the same way, Red Dead Online will be available via the cloud and consoles but not on PC.
Another key detail to pay attention to if you’re excited for any of these releases is the date of arrival for each game. Dragon Quest Builders 2 lands on Xbox Game Pass on May 4. Which is tomorrow.
But all of the remaining titles are split between release dates of May 6 and May 13. So it’ll be halfway through the month before all of May’s titles are accessible through their respective devices. On May 6, players get access to FIFA 21, Outlast 2, and Steep. On May 13 players get access to the rest of the titles which includes Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD Remaster, Just Cause 4: Reloaded, Psychonauts, Red Dead Online, and Remnant From The Ashes.
