Finally, it seems like the Android 11 update is reaching out to other brands apart from Samsung. Because in a new report by XDA (via PhoneArena), Motorola Moto G Stylus is picking up its Android 11 stable update.
For quite a while, we are seeing only Samsung devices consistently picking up the stable Android 11 update. But this time, it is the recently launched Moto G Stylus that is getting served with the latest firmware update.
The good thing about Motorola is their version of the Android 11 update is as close to stock as one can get. So, the Android 11 experience on Moto G Stylus will be bloatware-free, as you would expect from Motorola.
Yes, there are few Motorola apps, but they are meant to enhance your experience of using a Motorola phone. Moreover, you can expect your Motorola device to get updated to Android 11, as long as it is a fairly new device.
One thing that will surely disappoint Moto G Stylus users is, according to the changelog grabbed by XDA, this Android 11 update brings the February 2021 security patch.
It arrives with firmware version RPR31.Q1.56-9 and weighs around 1.2GB in size. So, we would advise Moto G Stylus owners to download the update on a stable Wi-Fi network.
If you are own the US version of Moto G Stylus, then you would have, by now, received the update notification on your handset.
Talking about the Android 11 features, after updating, users will get features like chat bubbles, a conversation section in the notifications area, a one-time permissions option, dedicated media playback widget, and much more.
Just to recall, the Motorola G Stylus comes with a triple-camera setup, and sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display. Of course, from the name you might have already guessed, this device comes with a stylus, but it ain’t that feature-rich as the one you get with Galaxy Note devices.
It bundles a 4,000 mAh battery. Notably, the European variant has already bagged the Android 11 update, and now the US variant is picking up the Android 11 update.
If you have not yet received the update notification, then you can also check for it manually. To do so, Settings. Then tap on About Phone. Finally, tap on System updates.
Your phone will begin searching for the new update. If there is a new Android 11 update live in your region, then you can tap on the notification. It will download and install the latest firmware update for your Moto G Stylus.
