Motorola has announced two new G series smartphones, the Moto G60 and Moto G40 Fusion. These two smartphones are actually extremely similar, and they deliver rather compelling specifications.
It is worth noting that both phones got announced in India, but they will likely roll out to more markets. Having said that, these two phones look basically the same, and they do share the vast majority of their specs.
You’ll notice that they have a flat display, and a centered display camera hole. There are three cameras on the back, placed in the top-left corner All the physical buttons are on the right side, while the bottom bezel is the thickest.
Both phones are made out of plastic, and we’re looking at a plastic unibody design here. The Motorola logo on the back doubles as a fingerprint scanner, a regular capacitive fingerprint scanner.
In terms of specifications (and in general), there are only three differences between these phones. Those differences lie in the RAM, storage, primary camera sensor, and front-facing camera.
So, let’s first talk about those aspects, and then we’ll list the rest of their specifications. The Moto G60 offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Moto G40 Fusion comes in both 4GB and 6GB of RAM with 64GB and 128GB of storage, respectively.
The Moto G60 offers a 108-megapixel main camera (f/1.9 aperture, Ultra Pixe), while the Moto G40 Fusion comes with a 64-megapixel main camera (f/1.79 aperture, Quad Pixel). The Moto G60 includes a 32-megapixel front-facing camera (f/2.2 aperture), while the Moto G40 Fusion sports a 16-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.2 aperture).
The rest of the specs are identical. Both phones feature a 6.8-inch fullHD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 732 SoC fuels these devices, and both offer microSD card support for storage expansion.
A 6,000mAh battery can be found inside these phones, and both devices support 20W fast charging. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera (f/2.2 aperture) is included, and it doubles as a macro camera. A 2-megapixel unit (f/2.4, bokeh) camera sits on the back as the third camera.
An audio jack is also a part of the package, along with a Type-C USB port. An NFC chip is included, along with WiFI 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz). You can also take advantage of the Face Unlock feature.
Android 11 comes pre-installed on the devices, along with My UX skin. The devices measure 169.61 x 75.88 x 9.8mm, along with 225 grams. The Moto G60 is priced at INR17,999 ($241), while the two Moto G40 Fusion variants cost INR13,999 ($187) and INR15,999 ($214). The Moto G60 will become available in India on April 27, while the Moto G40 Fusion will go on sale on May 1. We still do not know when will they reach more markets.
