Nokia seems to be working on a new smartphone, the Nokia X50, and a 108MP penta camera system is expected. In addition to that, the phone is expected to feature a 120Hz display.

This information comes from the Nokia Power User (NPU) website, and do note that the source is not sure about the name. The source is guessing it’s the Nokia X50, but the phone could feature a different name once it arrives.

This will be a 5G smartphone, and it is expected to arrive in Q3 this year. The source is also guessing this is a successor to the Nokia 8.3 5G, which was one of the company’s more popular devices.

The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 775 SoC, and the ZEISS partnership will continue. In addition to a 108-megapixel main camera, the phone will feature ultra-wide, telephoto, depth, and macro cameras.

The OZO Audio technology will also be a part of the package, as it was on the Nokia 8.3 5G. In regards to the display, it will be a 6.5-inch QHD+ display with PureDisplay V4. A 120Hz refresh rate was also mentioned.

A large battery will also be included in the package

A beefy 6,000mAh battery will also be included in the package, and it should be enough to cope with the phone’s display. On top of everything, the phone will include 22W fast wired charging.

There is still a slight chance that this handset will be called the Nokia 8.4 5G. The source does note that the Nokia X50 name is more probable, as Nokia is looking to distance itself from its weird naming structure.

On top of that, the Nokia X10 and X20 already launched, and suggested that reports regarding the demise of the previous naming structure are accurate. So, moving forward, we should not see decimal points in the names of Nokia-branded smartphones. Many people will be happy with this change, as the whole naming structure was rather confusing and plain odd.
