OnePlus 9 Pro reverse teardown

OnePlus thought of something rather interesting, the OnePlus 9 Pro Lego challenge, sort of. The company decided to poke fun at JerryRigEverything, a well-known YouTube channel that handles smartphone durability tests and teardowns.

OnePlus sent Zack, the owner of the channel, a OnePlus 9 Pro unit, but there’s a catch. The company didn’t send him a regular unit, as they would any other reviewer, but a OnePlus 9 Pro in pieces.

The OnePlus 9 Pro arrives in pieces = Lego challenge

Truth be said, he did get a regular unit beforehand, for a durability test, but this is something else entirely. Since Zack does teardowns on his channel, OnePlus thought it might be funny to send him a phone that is already in pieces… though it did come with instructions.

Zack actually decided to accept the challenge, and do a reverse teardown. He filmed the whole thing, and uploaded the video on his YouTube channel. That video is embedded below the article, and it has a duration of around 8 minutes.

If you ever need to disassemble your OnePlus 9 Pro, or need to show someone else how to do it, you can simply play this video in reverse, and see the teardown process.

For full details, you’ll need to watch the video, but we’ll mention the most interesting tidbits here, of course. First of all, do note that the phone’s display is glued to the frame of the device. That is perfectly normal for modern flagships, by the way.

You’ll get to see the phone’s vapor chamber, dual battery setup, and more

There is a vapor chamber visible on the inside, placed at the back of the display. That vapor chamber is there primarily for gaming and charging, as it’s supposed to help keep the heat at bay. It will also help during prolonged filming sessions, and so on.

You can see the phone’s rear camera sensors, and two of them are quite large. You’ll also get a good look at the phone’s battery, or should I say… batteries. The phone includes a dual battery setup, and it charges both at the same time.
