OnePlus has answered a ton of user questions from the very first OnePlus 9 series AMA (Ask Me Anything) session. The company opened up a thread on its official forums on March 23. Users have asked a ton of questions since then, and the company answered quite a few of them.

OnePlus answered quite a few user questions in OnePlus 9 series AMA

The company confirmed that it is working on switching cameras in Pro mode. At the moment, you can only use the main sensor in Pro mode. Well, you’ll be able to use the ultra-wide in the future as well, and quite possibly the telephoto too.

The company’s employee said that such a feat requires more time, as the company needs to “meet Hasselblad's high standard of RAW format in terms of color calibration”. The update is coming in the coming months, though.

OnePlus also confirms that its partnership with Hasselblad will “include hardware collaboration in the future”. So, the OnePlus 10 series, or perhaps even the OnePlus 9T, could offer a hardware boost by Hasselblad. The two companies signed a 3-year contract, so… we’ll see what comes out of it.

The company also said that the decision not to include a frame made out of metal in the OnePlus 9 was a calculated call. It did that in order to cut costs, and reduce the weight of the device. It actually comes with a fibre glass frame, and it actually feels similar to metal.

The company received quite a few camera-related questions

OnePlus also talked about the always on display, while it answered some more Hasselblad-related questions. On top of everything, it answered a couple of questions regarding the OnePlus Watch as well.

The vast majority of questions in that forum thread were about the OnePlus 9 series cameras, though. That’s not surprising due to the Hasselblad branding, and the fact the company needs to boost those cameras via software. This Hasselblad partnership is quite exciting, and it will be interesting to see what will happen in the future.
