It seems like OnePlus will opt for the OnePlus 9R name after all. More proof just surfaced, courtesy of Evan Blass. The tipster shared a screenshot containing the company’s logo, and the ‘OnePlus 9R’ written next to it.
What’s interesting here, is that the letter ‘R’ is separated from the number ‘9’. So, it’s actually ‘OnePlus 9 R’, not ‘OnePlus 9R’. The latter definitely looks better, though we’ll see which one will OnePlus go with.
First, Max Jambor suggested that the OnePlus 9E name will be used. Some time after that, Evan Blass came out with information that the OnePlus 9R will be used instead. Mr. Jambor wasn’t convinced, but that seems to be the name the company will go for.
Of course, there’s a slight chance we’ll see both of those phones in the market at some point. OnePlus is expected to announce three smartphones as part of its OnePlus 9 series this month.
The OnePlus 9R will be joined by the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, both of which will be more powerful. Those two smartphones will be fueled by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, Qualcomm’s most powerful chip.
The information is scarce on the OnePlus 9R, but the device is tipped to use the Snapdragon 690 processor. It is also said to include a 6.5-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
OnePlus is expected to announce the launch date for these phones on March 8. Their launch date is rumored to be March 23, so the company will probably simply confirm that on Monday.
In addition to those three smartphones, OnePlus is also expected to announce a wearable on March 23. The OnePlus Watch has been rumored for a long time at this point. Rumors are saying that it will launch alongside the OnePlus 9 series, so… that’s probably going to happen.
