OnePlus will announce something on March 8. The company shared an image of Earth, alongside the aforementioned date. In addition to that, the company also used the “Something new is on the horizon.” caption.

OnePlus will announce something on March 8, but it’s not the OnePlus 9 series… well, not exactly

Before you get too excited, though, that’s not what’s coming on March 8. Knowing OnePlus, this is the announcement of the launch date for the OnePlus 9 series. The company did that in the past, so that’s the first hint.

The second hint is… nothing about this teaser suggests that the OnePlus 9 will launch on the said date. Besides, OnePlus still didn’t start teasing the OnePlus 9 series properly, this is basically the first indirect teaser.

Hasselblad partnership will be thrown in the mix

Our guess is that the company will announce the launch date on March 8, and then start dropping teasers, as it usually does. OnePlus may also announce a Hasselblad partnership as well. Why do we mentioned that, well, the image of a globe you're seeing here, is actually taken from an image that astronauts took way back in the day, using Hasselblad's cameras.

The OnePlus 9 series is expected to arrive at some point in March, so we won’t have to wait for long. Based on everything that we've seen thus far, the leak of the OnePlus 9 Pro with Hasselblad branding, and this teaser… Hasselblad will be included in the picture, very much so. We don't know if it will be only for the 'Pro' model, or possibly even for the regular one.

If I had to guess, I’d say it’s coming at some point between mid-March, and the very end of the month. Following the March 8 announcement, we’ll probably have a week or two before the
phones drop.

Three OnePlus 9 phones are coming in March, but that’s not all

Now, in addition to three OnePlus 9 smartphones, the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, and 9R, the company is expected to announce another device. The OnePlus Watch has been rumored for quite some time now, and a well-known tipster more or less confirmed it’s coming with the OnePlus 9 series.

So, this month will be quite exciting for OnePlus fans. Not only will the company announced three smartphones, but two of them will be flagship ones. On top of that, the company’s very first smartwatch will arrive.
