POCO has announced two new smartphones, the POCO F3 and X3 Pro. Both of these handsets are quite compelling, as they offer a lot, while they don’t cost much. That’s just what we’ve come to expect from POCO.
Let’s kick things off with the POCO F3, as that handset is slightly more powerful. The phone includes a rear-facing camera housing similar to the one on the Xiaomi Mi 11, as far as the design goes. A centered display camera hole is included on the phone as well, along with a flat display and thin bezels.
This handset features a 6.67-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That panel is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5, and it comes with MEMC.
The Snapdragon 870 fuels the phone, while the device includes 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. It also comes with two nano SIM card slots. Android 11 is pre-installed, along with MIUI 12.
A 4,520mAh battery sits inside of this phone, while the device supports 33W wired charging. You’ll find stereo speakers here, along with a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and an IR blaster.
A 48-megapixel camera (Sony IMS582 sensor, f/1.79 aperture) is this phone’s main camera. It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera (f/2.4 aperture), and a 5-megapixel telemacro camera (3cm-7cm, f/2.4 aperture).
A 20-megapixel unit (f/2.4 aperture, 0.8um pixel size) sits on the front. The device measures 163.7 x 76.4 x 7.8mm, and weighs 196 grams. It comes in Arctic White, Night Black, and Deep Ocean Blue colors. This phone’s 6GB and 8GB RAM variants are priced at €349 ($415) and €399 ($475). Early bird pricing is even lower than that.
The POCO X3 Pro comes with a circular camera housing on the back, while it also has a flat display on the front, with a centered display camera hole. This phone also sports a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
The device includes a 6.67-inch fullHD+ panel, but this is an LCD display. It’s still a 120Hz panel, but with no MEMC. It is protected by the Gorilla Glass 6, by the way.
The Snapdragon 860 fuels this smartphone, while the device comes with 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. That storage is expandable up to 1TB.
Android 11 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with MIUI 12 skin. There are two SIM card slots included here, and we’re looking at a hybrid setup here. The second SIM card slot can be used to expand the storage.
A 5,160mAh battery is included, along with 33W fast wired charging. The phone is splash resistant (IP53 certification), while a 3.5mm headphone jack is also included. Stereo speakers are a part of the package as well.
A 48-megapixel main camera (Sony iMX582 sensor, f/1.79 aperture), is backed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit (119-degree FoV, f/2.2 aperture). A 2-megapixel depth camera is also a part of the package, as is a 2-megapixel macro camera (1.75um pixel size, f/2.4 aperture).
The phone measures 165.3 x 76.8 x 9.4mm, and weighs 215 grams. This handset comes in Phantom Black, Frost Blue, and Metal Bronze colors. Its 6GB and 8GB RAM variants are priced at €249 ($296) and €299 ($356), respectively. Early bird pricing is even lower than that. Both phones are expected to go on sale soon.
