Runescape is one of the oldest and most popular MMO franchises out there, and it’s coming to Android devices this Summer. This week, the game’s developer Jagex, announced that Runescape is officially coming to mobile devices and includes both Android and iOS platforms.
This is a full launch of the game, though not its first time on mobile devices per se. Jagex actually launched Runescape on mobile devices in beta form a few years ago. Where it has stayed until now. But since this is a full launch and the game is exiting out of beta, it should have more polish than before.
Players can also pre-register for the game right now if they want to get an early jump on things. Doing so will net you some in-game rewards, so it might be worth it if you plan to play. As for what the rewards are, Jagex doesn’t list them all specifically but it does mention categories. Like hair styles, teleport devices, swords, pets, and even some swanky new armor. Players also end up getting a 50% xp boost.
Just like with games like Genshin Impact, Runescape on Android will support cross-progression with the PC version. This way you can flip back and forth to whichever machine you feel will suit you at the time.
Sometimes you may want to play in front of your PC for easier controls with a mouse and keyboard. At other times you may want to play more comfortably from the couch or in bed. So you can switch to mobile at your leisure.
What’s more is that cross-progression is supported from launch. So you can swap from the beginning if you want to. The game will also support cross-play, letting you play with friends who may play on a different platform from you.
One of the cool things about Runescape is that it allows you to play your way. Though this is generally most MMOs. Some though push players to do certain things in a certain order. And while there will still be some of that here, there’s a lot of open availability to set out on your own and forge your own path.
The world of Runescape is vast. So there’s a lot to see and lot to discover. With lots of skills to unlock as you level your character and make it more powerful. If you want to pre-register for Runescape, you can do so from the Google Play button below.
