Razer Orochi V2 Gaming Mouse

Razer today is launching the Orochi V2 gaming mouse. The next iteration of the popular Orochi designed to be a top-notch option for laptop users.

Of course the Orochi V2 is perfect for desktop users as well. Especially those worried about battery life. The mouse is also very lightweight and comes in a few different colors. Razer’s standard matte black and mercury white. Unlike most other wireless gaming mice that Razer offers, the Orochi V2 is powered by a single AA battery.

It also doesn’t offer some of the more advanced features you’ll find on mice like the Viper Ultimate. It does however feature Razer’s HyperSpeed wireless technology, as well as six programmable buttons and Razer’s 2nd-gen mechanical mouse switches. Razer says these are rated for up to 60 million clicks. So expect it to last a while.

The Razer Orochi V2 gaming mouse has a battery life of over 900 hours

Most gaming mice might get you a week of battery life at the very most before they need a recharge. But not the Orochi V2.

Razer says it can last for over 900 hours (up to 950) while the mouse is in Bluetooth Low Energy Mode. Which is at least 37 days of continuous use. Chances are the batteries will last much longer than that because most people aren’t going to be using it for 37+ straight days. More than likely it’ll last you for months at a time.

What makes this possible is the use of a AA Lithium battery. As opposed to a rechargeable battery like Razer’s other wireless mice options. That does mean you have to replace the battery altogether at some point. But AA batteries are cheap and it only takes one. So one 8-pack of Lithium-based AAs could last you well into two years with the Orochi V2.

And you’d never have to recharge it or worry about it dying on you in the middle of use. You will get significantly less battery life though if you use an Alkaline-based AA battery so keep that in mind.

There’s a Razer Customs version with a bunch of cool design options

Want something with a little more uniqueness to it? Then you can shoot for the Razer Customs version of the Orochi V2 that offers a ton of different style options.

The Razer Customs version costs $90 compared to the standard model’s $70 price tag. So you pay a little bit more for the ability to slap a design on there. You can also add text with black or white font colors so you can add things like your gamertag.

The Razer Orochi V2 gaming mouse is available from Razer.com and authorized resellers as of today. Though you can only get the Customs model from Razer directly.
