The Realme GT is the company’s newest smartphone. This is actually the company’s new flagship handset, and it surely has a lot to offer, while it manages to keep its price tag under control, to say the least.

Realme says that the ‘GT’ name is inspired by sports cars from the 1950s and 1960s. The Realme GT in Racing Yellow color definitely has that sports car aesthetic.

The Realme GT comes in both glass and leather variants

Depending on the color, the Realme GT is made either out of metal and glass, or metal and leather. The aforementioned Racing Yellow variant comes with a leather back, while the Blue and Silver models offer glass backs.

The phone features really thin bezels, and a display camera hole in the top-left corner. It comes with a flat display, while its rear cameras are placed in the top-left corner. Speaking of which, there are three cameras included on the back.

The phone features a 120Hz display, and it's fueled by the Snapdragon 888 SoC

The Realme GT features a 6.43-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen-to-body ratio here is 91.7-percent, which is quite high, needless to say.

The Snapdragon 888 fuels this phone, Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC, and it delivers 5G support. The device comes with 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of storage. We’re looking at LPDDR5 RAM here, and UFS 3.1 flash storage, so Realme did not really spare any expense on getting the best components.

Extremely fast 65W charging is included

The phone offers a 4,500mAh battery capacity, and that is provided by two batteries. You’ll find two 2,250mAh batteries, and that setup is used because of charging. Realme’s SuperDart 65W charging is extremely fast, and it charges both batteries at the same time (approximately 30W each), just to avoid damaging them. Wireless charging is not supported. It takes the phone only 35 minutes to charge from 0 to 100-percent.

Now, in regards to cameras. A 64-megapixel main camera (Sony IMX682 sensor, f/1.8 aperture) is backed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit (f/2.3 aperture, 119-degree FoV), and a 2-megapixel macro camera (f/2.4 aperture). A 16-megapixel camera (f/2.5 aperture) can be found on the front side.

Android 11 comes pre-installed on the device

The phone features an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, and it does come with a 65W charger in the box. Android 11 comes pre-installed, with Realme UI 2.0.

The glass versions of the device measure 158.5 x 73.3 x 8.4mm, while they weigh 186 grams. The leather model measures 158.5 x 73.3 x 9.1mm, and weighs 186.5 grams.

Its price is really affordable considering its hardware

The Realme GT got announced in China, and its pricing starts at CNY2,799 ($432), while it goes all the way up to CNY3,299 ($510) for the 12 GB RAM model with 256 GB of storage.

This phone is expected to come to more markets in the near future, and the price will hopefully be similar. It’ll be more expensive outside of China, but let’s hope not by much. Realme did not share any information regarding global availability just yet.
