Samsung has finally made up its name and chosen a name for its next ‘Z Flip’ foldable smartphone, it seems. This information comes from Letsgodigital, who claims to have received the information from “reliable sources”.

Samsung finally chooses the name for the next ‘Galaxy Z Flip’ foldable

The source claims that the name of the device will be the Galaxy Z Flip 3, not the Galaxy Z Flip 2. We’ve heard it both ways in the last couple of months, though the last piece of information claimed Samsung will stick with the Galaxy Z Flip 2.

Well, it seems like the company is looking to bring its two foldable lineups on the same level this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is coming, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will launch alongside it.

The Galaxy Z Flip lineup is a generation behind the Galaxy Z Fold series, as the original Galaxy Z Flip did not launch in the same year as the first Galaxy Z Fold device.

Also, the company announced the Galaxy Z Flip 5G last year, after the Galaxy Z Flip. So, that device is kind of considered to be the Galaxy Z Flip 2 by the company, though not really.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is allegedly coming in July, exactly one year after the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The Z Fold 3 is also rumored to arrive at that time, so the company may launch both devices at the same time.

That would make sense, as they’re both foldable offerings, though vastly different. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be a smartphone that folds down into a smaller form factor. The Galaxy Z Fold 3, on the other hand, will be a smartphone that folds out into a table.

Both of those devices will be quite powerful, though if previous models are any indication, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be more powerful. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will likely be fueled by the Snapdragon 888, and brings top-of-the-line specs to the table.
