Samsung has decided to issue wage raises to all of its employees. This increase will average to 7.5-percent, and between 3.0 and 4.5 percentage points in additional performance bonuses.

This new structure will go into effect starting next month. This particular move is quite important, as these are the biggest wage raises that the company has issued in over a decade.

Samsung issues wage raises as the company's performance was more than satisfactory

In its statement, Samsung said that it approved such a move, as the company’s performance across all sectors has been more than satisfactory, which is something the company’s finances have shown.

This move is especially interesting considering the COVID-19 crisis. Samsung actually came below projections in terms of profit for the last fiscal year, but COVID-19 is to blame for that. Having that in mind, the company still turned an extraordinary profit, of course.

Samsung also said that its employees can expect more such changes in the future, especially if the company ends up doing as good as it does. Samsung wants to beat its competitors in terms of wages. That is quite admirable.

Samsung has been crushing it in a number of sectors for a while now. Samsung Display has been doing great, as did Samsung Mobile. The company also had a good year in terms of smartphone component sales, and so on.

Samsung Electronics is doing good in more or less all sectors

As you all know, Samsung Electronics is a huge corporation, and there’s practically not a part of the company that has been failing. So, such a move by the company is not all that surprising. Awarding your employees for hard work is always a good idea.

It remains to be seen how will Samsung do in this fiscal year, though chances are it will keep going in the right direction. COVID-19 is still very much a thing, but that shouldn’t affect the company all that much.
