Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Review AM AH 8

After releasing the latest March 2021 security patch for the US variants of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, the international models are now receiving the latest security update.

Notably, Samsung first released the March 2021 security update for the Galaxy Note 10 lineup. Later, instead of Galaxy S21, the update appeared on the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Tab S7, and even on the Galaxy A8 (2018).

Thankfully, soon after the US variants, global models of the Galaxy S20 lineup are picking up the latest March 2021 update. The trio, i.e. Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra are bagging the update in various countries of Europe.

To be specific, as per Sammobile, the update is currently live in Bulgaria, France, and Greece. The Galaxy S20 March 2021 patch is arriving with firmware version G98xxXXS6DUBA.

There is no clarity regarding the size of the update. However, we expect it to be small since it is just a straight-forward security patch. Meaning that it does not bring any new features.

Samsung has done quite a fantastic job in rolling out the latest updates. Be it firmware, security patches, or bug fix updates, the Korean OEM has been always on top for a while.

Galaxy S20 March 2021 security patch brings fixes related to Exynos 990 chipset

Along with Google's own security fixes, the Galaxy S20 March 2021 security patch brings a bunch of fixes related to the Exynos 990 processor.

And similar to other security patches, the update also brings bug fixes and stability improvements with the latest software update. Unfortunately, we do not have an official changelog for this update at the moment.

Since the Galaxy S20 series has already started receiving the One UI 3.1 update based on Android 11, this new update just touches up things related to security.

Just like any other update, Samsung has pushed the Galaxy S20 March 2021 security patch via OTA in batches. This means the update will not be available for everyone exactly at the same moment.

If you own a Galaxy S20 device and reside in any of the aforementioned countries, then you should receive an update notification on your smartphone.

However, you can also manually check for the update. For that, head over to "Settings". Then you need to go to "System updates." From there, tap the "Download and install" option. The downloading and installation of the update will begin if a new update is available.

As already mentioned, the update is live in some countries of Europe. We expect it to be live in other markets in the coming weeks.
