After the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung has now started rolling out the April 2021 Android security patch to the Galaxy Note 10 phones. Select variants of the Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+, and the Note 10+ 5G are currently receiving the latest Android security maintenance release (SMR) in Germany and Switzerland. The rollout should expand to other regions in the coming days.
The latest update for the Galaxy Note 10 phones comes with the firmware version N97xFXXU6FUCD. Judging by the version number, this update should also include some new features or enhancements, along with the vulnerability fixes for April 2021. However, we don't have a changelog yet to confirm the contents of the new update.
Samsung has yet to publish the detailed contents of the April 2021 Android security patch as well. It is likely still a few days away, for that matter. The Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S21 phones are a bit too early to the security update party for April. Perhaps the Korean giant has made a habit of pushing the latest Android SMR to its devices much before even Google could publish the contents. Kudos to the company on that.
Anyways, Samsung tends to release the latest security bulletins within the first few days of every calendar month. So expect it to arrive by the end of this week. Confirmation on whether the latest update brings any new features to the Galaxy Note 10 series should also be available by then.
Samsung's impressive run with software update rollouts sees the Galaxy Note 10 pick up the April 2021 Android security patch within a month after the devices received the big update to the Android 11-based One UI 3.1. Expect the company to roll out the latest update to more devices in the coming weeks.
As said earlier, the latest update for the Galaxy Note 10 phones is currently rolling out in Germany and Switzerland. Other regions should follow in the coming days. However, as always, updates are released in batches. So it may take a few days before the over the air (OTA) release reaches each and every eligible unit. You should receive a notification to download the OTA file once it becomes available for your phone.
You can also manually check for updates by going to the Software update menu in your phone's Settings app, and then tapping the Download and install option. Galaxy Note 10 users, be on the lookout for the update in the coming days.
