When it comes to keyboards, size matters, and Corsair understands this having officially announced its latest keyboard product, a 60-percent version of the popular K65 RGB Mini mechanical gaming keyboard.
As with all 60-percent keyboards, some keys are shifted around and others removed entirely to save space. Removed keys are then doubled up on other keys, so you're not really losing any of the keys you had. They just don't have their own space anymore.
The new Corsair K65 RGB Mini 60-percent mechanical gaming keyboard may be small, but it packs in loads of features and all the functionality (or mostly) of the regular K65. All while making more space for other things on your desk. Perhaps you just prefer the cleaner look that a smaller keyboard provides. Whatever the reasoning, Corsair wants to be there to be your solution.
Corsair makes great gaming accessories and yet, a lot of the time that doesn't impact the cost of its products too much. Case in point, the new K65 RGB Mini.
It goes on sale today and is available at Corsair's website, retailing for only $109.99. Compared to the Razer Huntsman Mini, which retails for $119.99 if you go with the clicky optical switch model, or $129.99 if you go for the linear optical switch model.
That money saved could be put towards another gaming accessory you might need. Or anything else really. The point is you aren't spending as much money and you still get a good gaming keyboard.
In terms of features, being smaller isn't the only thing the keyboard has going for it.
60% keyboards aren't everyone's favorite due to losing the actual physical keys for some of the keyboard controls. Like the arrow keys, sound keys and more. But how they make up for that is by organizing all of those keys into expansive shortcuts.
With the K65 RGB Mini you'll have shortcuts for all or most of those keys on other key caps. It may take some getting used to, but familiarizing yourself with which keys are where shouldn't too long. The symbols are on the fronts of key caps which means they're facing you and fairly easy to see.
The entire bottom row of the keyboard also uses a standard design. Making it possible to customize your keyboard with custom key caps. This is a wired keyboard so it has to stay plugged in during use. It does USB-C though.
