All three upcoming OnePlus 9 smartphones got listed on Spigen’s website. The company lists the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, and 9E on its website. This essentially means that Spigen just brought more confusion to the OnePlus 9R naming.
Those of you who are out of the loop probably don’t know what’s going on. In addition to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, OnePlus is also planning to launch a less powerful smartphone with a mid-range SoC.
That device has been reported to be called the OnePlus 9E, initially, by Max Jambor. Recently, both Ishan Agarwal and Evan Blass suggested that it will be called the OnePlus 9R. Max Jambor is still not convinced that will happen, however.
Well, Spigen just managed to stir the pot once again. It is possible that Spigen still doesn’t know for sure, and it just listed one of the rumored names. On the flip side, the company may have all the necessary information.
Regardless of whether it will be called the OnePlus 9E or 9R, this will essentially be the OnePlus 9 Lite handset. It will be inferior to both the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, as those two phones will ship with a flagship SoC.
Not much information about the OnePlus 9R / 9E surfaced. We still do not know what the phone will look like, but some of its alleged specs did surface.
The OnePlus 9R / 9E will allegedly feature a 6.5-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 690 SoC was also mentioned by the source.
The phone’s rear camera setup will be led by a 64-megapixel camera, while an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit will also be included. We’re expecting more than two cameras on the back, though.
A 5,000mAh battery will be included on the inside, while the phone will support fast charging. The OnePlus 9R / 9E is expected to include 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
