OnePlus 7 Pro Review AM AH 16

Android 11 landed on the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro quite recently, and the same just happened for the OnePlus 7 series. In fact, the changelog is exactly the same as for the OnePlus 7T series, which was to be expected. Those devices share many of their specs, and have similar software builds.

The OnePlus 7 series users have been waiting for this to happen for quite some time. Do note that the update weighs around 2.6GB, so make sure you’re connected to a WiFi network before you proceed.

The changelog for this update is quite long, which is not surprising, as this is a major update. On top of Android 11, OnePlus is pushing out OxygenOS 11 with all the belonging features.

Android 11 brings a new visual design to the OnePlus 7 series, along with many new features

This update will bring a new visual design to the OnePlus 7 series, though it’s not a huge revamp. The stability of some third-party apps has been improved, while an Android security patch for February 2021 has also been issued.

OnePlus also updated the GMS package to January 2021. Various other parts of the software got the boost with this update. Let’s talk about the camera first, though, shall we.

The company has updated the camera UI on the OnePlus 7 series, and optimized some of the function paths in order “to offer more convenient operation”. The HEVC codec has been added in order to reduce video storage size.

A shortcut key for Dark Mode has been added in the quick settings. You can also set an automatic dark mode – light mode change now, if you want. You can even base it on sunrises / sunsets.

The Game Space has been highly improved

The Game Space has been improved quite a bit. You can now choose between three ways of notifications, while there’s also a quick reply feature in a small window now, for Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram. On top of all that, the company also added a mis-touch prevention feature to the Game Space.

The OnePlus Shelf adapts a new interface design with this update, it looks sleeker now. A weather widget has been added as well, to the OnePlus Shelf.

The OnePlus Gallery now supports the Story function, as it can automatically form weekly videos with photos and video in storage. The company has also optimized the loading screen of the gallery, and the image preview is also faster.

All these features have been added on regular Android 11 features that Google issued with the update. Do note that some of those were Pixel-exclusive features, so you’ll get only the ones that are meant for general use.
