According to Droid-Life the TicWatch Pro 3 H-MR2 update is finally here. The TicWatch Pro 3 from Mobvoi is one of the more popular Wear OS watches around. That has a lot to do with the Snapdragon Wear 4100 that powers the smartwatch.

Now, thankfully the watch is getting a huge Wear OS update. The H-MR2 update was first mentioned by Google back in August 2020. This update is the one that will bring true support for the Snapdragon 4100 chip. Here it is now near the end of April and the update is finally rolling out. Better late than never though right?

A Reddit user shared a Facebook group message from Mobovi detailing the update. According to this user. The update will reach the first batch of users who started getting the update yesterday. But, the rest of the users will not have to wait too long. By April 24 the rollout should be 100% complete.

The PMRB.210407.001 update features more than just official Snapdragon 4100 support. In the update, users will get an option to disable the long-press of the power button to activate Google Assistant. There will also be a new screen brightness layout, new weather tile, and a new theater mode.

There will also be improvements for media volume and ringtone volume, app launcher sorting, UI smoothness, and performance of the Snapdragon Wear 41000. This is great news for many TicWatch Pro 3 owners. Now, their smartwatches will be able to take full advantage of the powerful processor that is inside of them.

Wear OS recently got a redesign to its Play Store page to make it look cleaner. The Wear OS platform has been getting a bit more love recently. This is good because a few Wear OS watches have released that look good, and have good performance in terms of hardware. This includes the Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 and the Oppo Watch.

However, Wear OS also has an issue that is affecting some new users. There is an older way that apps are installed. As a result of Google deprecating this method, some users are having problems getting their apps to install.

Despite this, it is definitely good to see the platform getting some love. Google needs Wear OS to start succeeding so it can battle with Samsung and Apple in the wearables market. Also, more choices make everyone happy. Consumer win and competition make OEMs have to stay on their A-game.
