According to PhoneAreana (via Music Business Worldwide), TikTok is seeking advertisers for both the global and U.S. versions of the app. This means that TikTok is looking for potential advertisers to pitch its TikTok for Business services to. As a result of this, some of the information that TikTok’s advertisers could utilize has been brought to light.

TikTok’s pitch deck has been leaked online. This leak shows the information about TikTok’s audience. TikTok’s numbers show that it has 732 million monthly active users. 100 million of those users are in the United States alone.

Now keep in mind, that these numbers are over half a year old which means the numbers could be much higher. The lawsuit that the company faced last year from the government showed the app gained 14.3 million users between July and October 2020.

By doing a little math, if the numbers continue to grow at this rate the social medial platform could have over a billion monthly active users by May 2022. That is a lot of users to have on a monthly basis. TikTok is pitching various pieces of data to advertisers.

Some of this data should make advertisers eager to throw some money in TikTok’s direction. According to the pitch deck, 47% of users said that they have purchased something that they saw on TikTok. In the past, 67% of users said they found inspiration to go shopping thanks to TikTok.

This is good to know for advertisers because they know there is potential to push their products or services to users. Especially because that 67% of users were not looking to buy anything originally. By being on TikTok they found inspiration to purchase something.

TikTok is seeking advertisers both globally and in the U.S.

The pitch deck also reveals demographics that show the ages of active users. 42% of active users were between the ages of 18 and 24 years old. Users between the age of 13 and 17 accounted for 17% of active users.

Users between 25 and 34 years old make up 22% of users with 12% being 34 to 44 years old. Lastly, for the users over 45, they make up 7% of monthly active users. These users open up TikTok 19 times a day, but it isn’t clear if this is global or just U.S. users.

In terms of average view time, the average TikTok user views the app for 89 minutes a day. This information is accurate as of this past January. TikTok is “the most entertaining platform” according to 80% of users.

TikTok has been on a huge growth trajectory ever since the pandemic and has been competing with Instagram in terms of features. Even when the app was facing a ban it still grew strong and stayed in the spotlight.
