Vivo has announced its X60 flagships for global markets. This smartphone series consists out of three phones, the Vivo X60, X60 Pro, and X60 Pro+. These devices were initially announced back in January, in China, and only the latter two are coming to global markets, it seems. The regular Vivo X60 will remain exclusive to China, that is also the most affordable phone in the series.

All three phones are coming to markets out of China, Vivo announced. Before we begin, it is worth noting that Vivo partnered with ZEISS for the camera systems on these phones.

The Vivo X60 series flagships start rolling out to global markets

The company announced that starting today, the Vivo X60 series is being rolled out in more than 20 markets, including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the UK, and United Arab Emirates. Regions including APAC, the Middle East, and Europe will follow in the next few months.

Vivo also noted that the availability and specifications of each X60 series model will vary according to local market conditions and consumer preference. So, not all models may be available in all the markets we’ve mentioned.

The Vivo X60 Pro and X60 Pro+ are somewhat similar when it comes to the design, at least from the front. They both include curved displays, and those panels are identical in terms of size, more on that later. They both have a centered display camera hole, and really thin bezels.

The Vivo X60 Pro+ comes with a Vegan Leather backplate

Where you can see the difference between these two smartphones is on the back. The Vivo X60 Pro+ offers more in the camera department, and that’s visible in the sheer size of the sensors used on the back. On top of that, it includes vegan leather on the back, compared to glass on the Vivo X60 Pro. Having said that, both phones include an in-display fingerprint scanner, an optical one.

Many of you are probably wondering about the specs on these two phones, so let’s go over them. Both phones feature 6.56-inch fullHD+ AMOLED displays, though they’re not the same. The Vivo X60 Pro+ includes a Super AMOLED panel. Both displays do support a 120Hz refresh rate, though, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.

Vivo utilized Snapdragon 870 and 888 SoCs here

The Vivo X60 Pro is fueled by the Snapdragon 870 SoC, while the Snapdragon 888 fuels the X60 Pro+ model. Both devices come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. UFS 3.1 flash storage is included here.

You’ll find a 4,200mAh battery in both phones, but the Vivo X60 Pro+ comes with faster charging. It supports 55W fast wired charging, while the X60 Pro supports 33W fast wired charging. Wireless charging doesn’t seem to be included.

Android 11 comes pre-installed on both devices, along with Vivo’s Funtouch 11.1 skin. Bluetooth 5.1 is also a part of both smartphones. A 32-megapixel front-facing camera (f/2.5 aperture, 0.8um pixel size) is used by both smartphones.

Their rear camera setups are considerably different, though. Let’s talk about the one on the Vivo X60 Pro first, and those cameras are inferior to the Vivo X60 Pro+ model.

The Pro+ model comes with a more powerful camera setup

The Vivo X60 Pro comes with three cameras on the back. A 48-megapixel main camera (f/1.5 aperture, 0.8um pixel size, gimbal stabilization, PDAF) is backed by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 120-degree FoV, 16mm lens), and a 13-megapixel portrait unit (f/2.5 aperture. 0.8um pixel size, PDAF, 2x optical zoom).

The Vivo X60 Pro+, on the other hand, features four cameras on the back. A 50-megapixel camera (f/1.6 aperture, 1.2um pixel size, dual pixel PDAF, OIS, Laser AF) is the phone’s main sensor. An 8-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (125mm lens, PDAF, OIS, 5x optical zoom) is also included here. A 48-megapixel sensor (0.8um pixel size, gimbal stabilization, 114-degree FoV) is responsible for ultra-wide images. The last camera sensor is a 32-megapixel telephoto one (50mm lens, f/2.1 aperture, 0.8um pixel size, PDAF, 2x optical zoom).

The Vivo X60 Pro measures 158.58 x 73.24 x 7.59mm. It comes in Midnight Blue and Shimmer Blue color variants. The difference in weight between the two is 2 grams, they weigh 177 and 179 grams, respectively.

The Vivo X60 Pro, on the other hand, measures 158.59 x 73.35 x 9.10mm, and weighs 191 grams. The phone comes in an Emperor Blue color, and it includes Vegan Leather on the back. Price tags are still unknown, and they will differ from one market to the next.
