Top-rated streaming app Vudu is now ready to stream on Amazon Fire TV devices. That's based on a recent report detailing the decision by Vudu owner Fandango to join the platform.

The service will, of course, work on all Amazon Fire TV devices. So that includes Fire TV smart TVs, Fire TV sticks, and Amazon's Fire TV Cube.

What does Vudu on Amazon Fire TV bring to the table?

Now, according to Fandango EVP, Chief Commercial Officer Kevin Shepela, the goal here is to ensure that Vudu fans can "watch movies and TV shows on all of their favorite devices." And Amazon's Fire TV platform has been among the most-requested devices still missing from that puzzle. But what does Vudu actually bring to the table?

Summarily, Vudu offers more than 150,000 movies and TV shows. Some of those are free with ads while others can be purchased or rented. And all of that comes with no subscription. Movies and shows that are rented or bought from Vudu can, of course, be downloaded for offline viewing. And the list includes fan favorites, classics, and new content. Some of the newest releases to Vudu for this month include the latest SpongeBob movie, Disney Pixar's "Soul," and recent shows such as "The Walking Dead," "Young Rock," and "The Flash."

Perhaps as importantly, Vudu offers a significant number of movies in their on-demand and purchasable catalog that are in 4K UHD. And, of course, movies can be bought or rented on any available platform and then watched on any available platform.

With this announcement, all of that can be streamed via any Amazon Fire TV device.

What else does this bring Vudu fans?

Aside from availability on Amazon Fire TV devices, this addition should come with at least one other perk for Vudu fans. Namely, this should open up the possibility of accessing Vudu content via voice. More specifically, via Amazon Alexa on Fire TV devices.
