The PS5 is still notoriously hard to get a hold of, but maybe you’ll have better luck with these sneakers. Exactly one month ago from the time of writing, on March 28, images of the upcoming PS5 sneakers surfaced on Instagram thanks to laceuphk.
These are the 5th pair of shoes themed after Sony’s iconic video game consoles. With each generation of the PlayStation getting their own version. Just like all four previous iterations, the shoes will be made by Nike. These are officially called the PS5 x Nike PG5. They feature a number of different elements meant to mimic the design of the PS5 console.
Just as the other PlayStation sneakers have been with their respective console counterparts, the PS5 x Nike PG5 are themed with the PS5’s color palette. The sneakers are due to go on sale in May and while they won’t be wildly expensive at retail, they may still be challenging to get. Which could lead to high prices later thanks to resellers.
Right now there doesn’t seem to be an exact date of release. But Sneakerfiles has found out that the shoes will go on sale in May. Both pairs will retail for $110 each which is about what you could expect from a pair of limited edition Nikes.
They should be available for sale on both Nike’s website and at some local retailers. Though no retailers were specifically mentioned. Due to the nature of how limited these are likely to be, you’ll want to keep a close eye on their release if you want to secure a pair. Or one pair of each color.
Much like the other colorway, the white model of the PS5 x Nike PG5 carry the same style. But instead of being wrapped in blue they’re mostly white. Save for the tongue and insoles which are black. On the blue model, the tongue and insoles are white, and both pairs feature a blue PlayStation logo on the tongue. They also both feature blue soles on the bottom of the shoe.
Whether you’re looking to keep these for your collection or actually wear them from time to time, there’s no doubting these are a must-have item for PlayStation fans. If you can swing paying $110 for a pair of these, be on the lookout for the drop. May is just around the corner. And there’s a chance they could launch early on in the month.
