ZTE is launching a new phone, the Blade 11 Prime, for US customers on MVNOs Visible and Yahoo Mobile. The new budget-friendly gadget was announced today. And it will arrive in the US with a snappy MediaTek processor backed by 4GB RAM. That’ll be further backed by 64GB of internal expandable storage up to 2TB via microSD card.
Other highlights of the new handset, priced below $200, are its 6.5-inch, 1600 x 720 HD+ display with a water-drop cutout for the camera, and textured plastic design. The latter feature, of course, helps keep fingerprints and smudges to a minimum. All without taking away from the relatively premium aesthetics for the ZTE Blade 11 Prime.
ZTE also notes that the Blade 11 Prime ships with both wireless and reverse charging. Both of which are features typically found in the upper-midrange and flagship segments.
Now, in addition to CAT 6 LTE coverage, a fairly standard sensor array, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C 2.0, and a 4,000mAh battery, ZTE did pack this smartphone with some additional desirable features too. Although 5G is not present, as it is in other ZTE devices.
Not least of all, this budget handset includes a fingerprint sensor. The company embedded that in the power button on the right-hand side of the handset. As shown in the images below, the sensor is planted neatly into a curved groove as well. So it should have a great in-hand feel, further enhanced by the above-mentioned texture. This will also serve to make the device more grippy while the use of plastics will make this phone more durable.
The triple primary camera array, conversely, is led by a respectable 16-megapixel shooter. And ZTE backed that up with an 8-megapixel snapper and a 2-megapixel sensor as well. For clarity, that’s with an 80-degree wide-angle lens as part of the package. And AI scene detection is enabled on the camera array to ensure shots are as good as possible, regardless of which lens is in use.
The front-facing camera, on the other hand, is an 8-megapixel snapper.
All of that is powered by Android 11, too. So users will start out with the latest version of Android with the potential to update to Android 12 once that lands.
Those who want the full rundown of specs, as provided directly by ZTE, will find that in the table below.
