The base OnePlus 9 Pro model, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, is still not available in the US. OnePlus apparently decided to delay the sales of that variant for whatever reason.

The model didn’t even go on sale. The OnePlus 9 series went on sale in the US on Friday, and consumers who were aiming to get the base model of the OnePlus 9 Pro were out of luck. OnePlus also did not say when will it become available.

As most of you know, pre-orders took place before sales, and that model wasn’t available during the pre-order period either. That’s quite odd, as it was announced along with the 12GB RAM variant.

The base OnePlus 9 Pro model comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage

The OnePlus 9 Pro base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at $969. Those of you who want the 12GB RAM variant with 256GB of storage will have to part with $1,069.

The base model is more than enough for most users, and they’ll gladly save the extra $100. If you’re one of the users who wanted to purchase the device in the US, and you’re frustrated, well, that’s completely understandable.

Do know that the 8GB RAM variant is still coming, but we’re not sure when exactly. OnePlus was unable to provide the exact date, or anything of the sort. So, all we can do at this point is wait.

Retailers in the US don’t have it on offer either

If you’re wondering whether one of the retailers has the 8GB RAM variant of the OnePlus 9 Pro for sale, well, the answer is… no. Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H are having the same problem as OnePlus’ official web store. The same goes for T-Mobile, actually.

If we had to guess, we’d say that OnePlus is having issues with providing enough units. The SoC shortage is a real issue at the moment, and that could be affecting things, but we’re not sure, it’s just a guess.
