Samsung has started rolling out the April 2021 Android security patch to the Galaxy S10 series. The 2019 Galaxy flagships are currently picking up the latest Android security maintenance release (AMR) in a number of European countries including Switzerland, Russia, France, Ukraine, the Netherlands, and the Caucasus countries. The rollout should expand to other regions in the coming days.

All three Galaxy S10 models – the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10+ – are receiving the April update in the aforementioned regions. The update bumps the devices' firmware versions to G97xxXXU9FUCD. Judging by this build number, we can also expect this update to bring some new features and/or enhancements to the Galaxy S10 phones, along with this month's security fixes from Google and Samsung.

Unfortunately, we don't have a changelog ready to confirm this. If there's any notable addition, we will update you with the information in the coming days, once we have it.

Samsung's Galaxy S10 phones pick up the April security patch

Samsung and Google have yet to publish the monthly security bulletin for April 2021 as well. And that's because April 2021 isn't even here yet. But, as Samsung tends to do every month, the Korean firm has already pushed the latest Android SMR to a number of Galaxy devices.

The April 2021 Android security patch has already reached the Galaxy S21, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy A51, Galaxy A52, Galaxy S20 FE, and now, the Galaxy S10. More Galaxy devices will join this list in the coming days. We will update you with the contents of this month's SMR as and when Google publishes the latest security bulletin.

In the meantime, if you own a Galaxy S10 phone and live in one of the above-mentioned regions, expect an over-the-air (OTA) update to reach your phone anytime now if it hasn't already. Users in other regions can also lookout for this update in the coming days.

However, as always, software updates are released in batches. So even if the update has been released in your country, it may not reach all eligible units simultaneously. You should receive a notification prompting you to download the OTA file once it becomes available for your phone. You can also manually check for updates from your phone's Settings app. Just open the app, scroll down to the Software update section, and tap on Download and install. If an update is available, you'll be prompted to download it on the next screen.
