The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 is coming, and its battery capacity has just been revealed. Before we get to it, do note that we’re still not sure if Samsung will refer to the phone as the Galaxy Z Flip 2. There is a chance the company will skip that name, and go straight for the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Why? Well, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 arrived last year, and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is coming this year. Some rumors have been saying that the company is planning to align the names of two lineups. We will refer to the phone as the Galaxy Z Flip 2 in the rest of the article, though.

The Galaxy Z Flip 2 battery capacity revealed by several sources

That being said, the Galaxy Z Flip 2 has paid a visit to SafetyKorea, 3C, and DEKRA certification entities, reports MySmartPrice.

Now, the Galaxy Z Flip that arrived last year, offered a dual-battery setup. Together, those two batteries ended up offering a capacity of 3,300mAh. Well, the Galaxy Z Flip 2 will have a similar setup, it seems.

The Samsung SM-F711 battery will feature a 2,300mAh rated capacity, and a 2,370mAh typical capacity. In addition to that battery, a second one was spotted (SM-F712), which will work in collaboration with that one.

That second battery offers a rated capacity of 903mAh. The same information as provided by all three certification bodies, so chances are that the information is spot on. What does that mean for the end user?

Chances are we’ll end up with a 3,300mAh battery, again

Well, let’s take the provided capacities into consideration here. If we combine the 2,300mAh rated (2,370mAh typical) and 903mAh capacities, we get a 3,200mAh battery (3,270mAh) in the end. Samsung will most certainly round this off, and could market it as a 3,200mAh or 3,300mAh battery in the end.

All in all, it seems like the company has no intention of increasing battery capacity for the Galaxy Z Flip 2. If we had to guess, we’d say that the same 3,300mAh battery will be included in the phone.
