Last month Microsoft revealed a brand new wireless stereo headset for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Stating it would be coming in the middle of March, Microsoft put the headset up for pre-order the same dat as the announcement.
Allowing consumers to lock in their opportunities to get one of these headsets prior to launch. Since these were pre-orders the headset wouldn't ship until the actual launch date, but at least the headset would have been paid for.
Sometime between now and last month's announcement, stock of the pre-orders has been sold out at most retailers where the new Xbox Series X stereo headset is being sold. Which includes Microsoft's web store, Amazon, Target, GameStop, and even Best Buy. But there are more headsets on the way.
If you didn't get a chance to pre-order the headset, you'll have an opportunity to buy one straight after the launch tomorrow. At least some retailers, such as Best Buy and Target, indicate that there will be more stock coming.
While Best Buy's web page for the headset says that it's coming soon, Target says pre-order stock has been sold out. But that consumers should check back on the release date. With the release date being a mere day away, Xbox Series X owners looking for a headset option should be keeping an eye out for stock to go live. Which could technically happen at any time after 12AM PST.
If there's any one major advantage of this headset over others, it's the wireless connectivity. That's not to say this headset is the only one available that connect wirelessly. That's certainly not the case.
But it does connect wirelessly without the need for a dongle. So it'll pair directly with the Xbox Series X which makes things more convenient for the player. It also keeps ports on the console free.
But there are other notable features of the headset too. Like the ability to auto-mute the microphone when it knows you're not talking. Another feature aimed at convenience.
It also supports spatial sound with Microsoft Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone: X. As this is a wireless headset you will be needing to charge it every so often. On a single charge the battery will go for about 15 hours. If you're looking to grab one of these headsets for your own setup, you can check at various major retailers from the button below.
