Following the launch of the Moto G10 and Moto G30 last month, Motorola is preparing to add a new member to the Moto G family in the coming weeks – the Moto G50. The device was recently spotted in a retail listing on the Spanish online retailer ParatuPC with the model number XT2137-1. It has now appeared on the TENNA website, the Chinese certification agency, with the model number XT2137-2, revealing some key specifications and design.
According to the listing on TENNA, as spotted by MySmartPrice, the Moto G50 will be a 5G-capable handset with a dimension of 164.95 × 74.93 × 8.95 mm. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery and runs Android 11 out of the box. It also supports dual SIM dual standby, as well as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS, expectedly.
The listing also includes live images of the phone which confirm a triple-camera setup on the back. The rectangular camera housing on the top-left corner of the back panel also includes an LED flash. The batwing Moto logo on the back doubles up as a capacitive fingerprint sensor.
The Moto G50 has all its physical buttons on the right side. The power button sits lowest, below the volume rockers. There's also a third button above them, which will probably summon the Google Assistant when needed. The left side of the phone is pretty clean, with a tiny hole for the SIM tray.
That's pretty much everything revealed about the Moto G50 in this TENNA listing. However, previous leaks and rumors suggest a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G SoC, an HD+ 90Hz display with a waterdrop notch, a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, at least 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage, and a near-stock UI based on Android 11.
To recall, the Moto G50 had appeared on benchmarking platform Geekbench with the codename Ibiza and same model number XT2137-2 early last month. The device featured 6GB of RAM. Reports suggest that the phone will also be available in a 4GB RAM variant.
In fact, the listing on Spanish online retailer ParatuPC suggested a retail price of 229 Euros (~$272) for the 4GB variant with 128GB of storage. There could be a 64GB storage variant as well, though there's no confirmation on that as yet. With the device picking necessary certifications and approvals thick and fast, an official announcement shouldn't be too far off. We will keep you updated as and when the Moto G50 goes official.
