Leaks have been popping up for a while showcasing the successor to last year’s Samsung Galaxy Quantum. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Quantum 2 was just shown in a recently leaked hands-on video. This further confirms the rumors that have been floating around.

The video shows some features that will be there, and some features that won’t

The video was able to reveal a good amount about the Galaxy Quantum 2. For starters, the white variant that we see in the video shows a non-reflective matte back. Adorning the back is a pretty modest camera bump that houses three cameras. We can gather that at least one of the cameras (the main camera, most likely) is 64 megapixels.

The trim is metal because we see the plastic cut-outs to get a signal through. The power and volume buttons are all on the right side of the device. Along the bottom, we see the USB-C port along with a bottom-firing speaker and microphone. On the top, we see the SIM-card tray and an additional microphone. There is no headphone jack coming with the device.

What the Galaxy Quantum 2 does come with is a charger in the box. It doesn’t come with any other goodies in the box- at least from what we can see in the video. Other than that, we see a center-placed punch-hole on the top of the display.

The Galaxy Quantum 2 will have specs similar to its predecessor with some improvements

Some of the core features and specs of the Galaxy Quantum 2 will be carried over from last year’s offering, but with some improvements where it counts. It will have a large 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display. Aside from being a mouthful, it’s reminiscent of the Galaxy Quantum’s display from last year- however, this display will run at 120 Hz. Thiswill put it in line with flagship phones that are launching this year.

For the camera package, as confirmed in the video, at least one of the cameras will be 64 megapixels, and it’s rumored to have an aperture of f1.8. The other cameras are rumored to be a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f2.4 aperture.

The Galaxy Quantum 2 is rumored to come with the Snapdragon 855+ SoC with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It will also have microSD card expansion. The battery is expected to be a 4,500 mAh cell, and there’s a 15-watt fast charger in the box. Other specs include IP67 water and dust resistance and Android 11 out of the box.

The Galaxy Quantum 2 video confirms that this will be a compelling offer, bringing some features that are lacking even in its premium siblings, the Galaxy S series. Much like the Galaxy A51, it’ll be a great mid-ranger. Pre-orders are expected to begin tomorrow and it’s expected to launch on April 23rd, though there’s no word on the price.
